Worldlink

One of the most well-known IT firms, WorldLink is the biggest Internet and network service provider in Nepal. Dileep Agrawal, the company's current chairman, and managing director founded WorldLink in September 1995 with the intention of offering IT and Internet services. WorldLink first offered store-and-forward e-mail services via a dial-up connection to the Internet in the US. The company's ongoing expansion ambitions compelled it to offer full Internet access through a dedicated leased line to the US Internet backbone via Teleglobe International. After providing this service for two years, WorldLink began connecting to the Internet directly using its own VSAT terminal in 1997 and continued doing so until June 2008, totally eschewing Nepal Telecommunications Corporation.

WorldLink, a company with the mission of linking everyone, everywhere, all the time, has deepened its hold on Nepal's modest IT industry. It has long since fulfilled its function as an example for IT startups. It is boosting the market's job opportunities and assisting in strengthening the nation's economy. WorldLink has been asked by the Nepali government to participate in IT taskforces including the National IT Infrastructure Development Committee in order to further the advancement of IT in the nation as a whole.

WorldLink has developed into the most valuable brand in Nepal's IT sector over the past 25 years. The CDC Group, a UK development financing organization, joined the company's mission to bring the connection to everyone. CDC now holds 10% of the stock outstanding of the firm. WorldLink has been extending its services to the outlying villages and to rural areas of Nepal. By providing internet access to the less fortunate residents in distant locations, WorldLink hopes to bridge the gap between those who are connected and those who are not.
